I work to guide individuals and organizations to be more forward thinking – and acting – about public health and its determinants in their communities by:

• Teaching emerging public health professionals as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at SUNY Downstate School of Public Health and other NYC schools of public health
• Advising public health practitioners and organizations in developing effective community- and population-focused strategies
• Producing and hosting the Good Squishee Podcast, which explores public health and its determinants through the lens of popular culture

I created DWArticulated in April 2019 to bring my experience and interests directly to assist individuals and organizations in building a solid, sustainable public health strategies, and to support the work of community-based health and social services organizations using my:

• 30+ years of public health administration & management, and strategic planning for nonprofit, academic, and government organizations that promote and protect community health and well-being
• 20+ years of management and coordination of community-based public health education programs designed to reduce health disparities among economically-disadvantaged populations
• Program management and supervision/team leadership and liaising across disparate organizational entities to ensure collaboration
• Facilitation of collaborative efforts among academic leaders, government officials, nonprofit organizations, and community residents for strategic development and sustainability action plans
• Specialized skills in public policy analysis and community-based participatory research and planning
• Health and public policy-centered training: BS degree from Northwestern University, MPH degree from University of California, Los Angeles, and MPA degree from Columbia University; CDC/ASPH Intern, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

At DWArticulated, my mission is to empower organizations to create lasting public health outcomes in their communities. With over 30 years of experience in public health, I focus on strategies that enhance the well-being of those most in need.

In this climate of increasing health and social service needs – and competition for funding - it is vital for organizations to have a clear vision for how they want to provide a long-lasting impact to their communities with programs that have proven effectiveness.

Organizations that formulate a strategic direction for their public health strategies are more likely to succeed in making a lasting impact to their communities they serve, and are more likely to succeed in receiving long-term funding support from public and private funders to support their successful activities.

DWArticulated guides those individuals and organizations to develop and implement their strategic public health direction to make a tangible and measurable difference as they work to positively impact their communities' collective health and well-being.
